Me and my wife About me ...
spcHi, thanks for your trip in this site. My name is Giuseppe but my friends call me "Pino", I'm one of the many expatriates living abroad. I have been living in Thailand for around twelve years now, even though I used to visit this country as a tourist since the 80', times when I could not imagine that one day I would definitely be moving here.
Thanks to the typical culture and philosophy of the thai people, to the warm weather all year around and to the delicious local food, I have always considered Thailand as a perfect place for a nice and relaxing holiday. I'm currently living in a residential area on the east of Bangkok where the air isn't so polluted as in downtown, and as a job I administrate the Italgate (Thailand) Co., ltd, a Company of services born with the idea to create investments opportunities for european companies interested in having commercial relationship with this country.
Although I adapted myself very well to the thai lifestyle, sometimes I miss my dear Italy, and in special way the nice smalltown of Asti, place where I used to live since I was a child; I also think about my dad, passed away this week to catch up with my mother passed away many years ago, feels quite lonely, and of course I miss relatives and friends who, due the passing times, are getting further and further in my memory.
On the other side hare in Thailand I was lucky enough to meet and marry Nuth, a nice and very sweet thai girl. With her and my sons Patato, Egg and my daughter Gloria, I finally created something beautiful and very important to me: my family.
Living in a tropical country like Thailand I had to give up practicing my favourite sport, skiing, but I had the chance to learn a "similar" activity, water skiing, and I have to say that is very funny beside the fact that I can enjoy it all year around especially during the week ends. In fact, I use to spend most of the week ends with my family in Jomthien, a smalltown by the sea near the popular beach resort of Pattaya, just an hour and a half driving from Bangkok.

Thailand ... about the Thailand
spcThailand is known by the poeple as "The Country of Smiles" and is one of the most visited countries in the word; in fact this did act in such a way that maked possible who million of turists has discovered this beautiful country than in all others put together. The Thailand is located at the meeting point of the two great cultural systems of Asia, Chinese and Indian, for this reason little by little the Thai people has assimilated both of them, particularly linguistic culture, court culture and traditiona culture. Approximately 95% of Thais are Buddhist - Theravada Buddhism - with the remaing Christians and Muslims.
Thailand has a population of 60 million people, and covers an area of 513,000 square kilometers; the capital, known by the foreigners as Bangkok, is called by the thais with the real name of Krungtheep-Maha-Nakhorng, that means "City of Angels".
The city count around 8 million people, most of whom first arrived in Bangkok from other provinces in search of job and fortune. The way of living of the thai people is for many aspects very far and different from ours back to the West. Their culture and traditions have been handed down from generation to generation, and during the times has been carefully and proudly preserved by any foreign influences; that's why very often we can't just understand or adjust to the way of thinking or behaving of the thai people. This aspect is very evident in the provinces or in the countryside, while in Bangkok and in others touristic area such as Phuket or Pattaya the characteristic tha way of living has unfortunately radically changed to get more accostumed to the consumistic "American way" .....
